Translational Medicine Developmental Fund: Competitive Grant Cycle

SWOG understands that most significant clinical developments begin in the laboratories of investigators within SPOREs and cancer centers. SWOG aspires to be the clinical outlet for these investigators, developing physician and scientist collaborations, promoting cross-disciplinary science, and enhancing translational clinical trial design within and between disease committees. The result of this vision is the creation of the Translational Medicine Development Fund.

The purpose of the SWOG Translational Medicine Development Fund is to achieve harmonization of the Group, cancer centers and SPOREs, while fostering the development of creative trial capsules and protocols. Beginning in late 2009, $1,000,000 will be available for a competitive grants process to support multi-year grants to this effect.
