VA Staff Travel Support Program

Group meeting travel support for SWOG VA Staff

The Hope Foundation provides funding to support travel for SWOG Cancer Research Network member VA staff (coordinators, nurses, pharmacists) to attend the group’s annual meetings. This program was established as part of the Blanke Veterans’ Access to Clinical Trials Initiative to honor past SWOG chair Dr. Charles Blanke’s leadership and sustained advocacy for VA medical centers and the veterans they treat.

Award provides three (3) nights of lodging, coach airfare & ground transportation. Meals covered via reimbursement (no alcohol).

Fall meeting deadline to apply: July 15, 2026
(Meeting dates October 8-10)

Note: Deadlines which fall on a weekend or federal holiday are extended through 5pm ET the earliest business day thereafter.

Application Procedure

Please complete the form below to be considered for program support.

  • Applications will be reviewed and funded travelers will be notified directly by the Foundation once selected.
  • Applications received are considered for the next upcoming SWOG meeting.

Note: Support is non-transferable; only those who apply and are invited to attend may utilize funding awarded.
