The SWOG Leadership Academy engages the best and brightest of the Group’s early career investigators to prepare them for future leadership within the National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN).

This three-year program provides long-term mentorship and training in the organizational structure of SWOG and the NCTN, resources available through the NCI and The Hope Foundation, leadership possibilities within SWOG and NCTN, and more.supporting-swog-wt-bg

New program participants attend an initial leadership workshop. Following the workshop, each participant is paired with a mentor, taking part in regular teleconferencing and face-to-face meetings at subsequent SWOG Group Meetings for the duration of the three-year academy experience. Ongoing meetings will reinforce prior workshop learning. Long-term measures of success may include chairing an NCTN trial, assuming leadership within a committee or working group, or higher appointments. Travel expenses will be covered through the program.
